Welcome to the new MABA Board Members

Please extend a hearty welcome to the new members of the Board of Directors, as elected by YOU, our members. The Board welcomes Greg Boggs, George DeMartz, Bill Jones, Chris Schriver and Norris “Syd” Sydnor to the Board of Directors.

After the Board elections were complete, Brant Williams resigned his position on the Board due to unforeseen personal commitments. The Board of Directors appointed Theresa Bell to finish the remaining year on Brant’s term. Theresa was the next highest finisher in the recent Board election. Welcome, Theresa!

Your new Board of Directors has big plans for 2021 and we need help to bring these plans to life! Do you have skills in Excel, PowerPoint, social media, finance or another area? We need you! Please email maba@mabbqa.com with information about your skills and interests and we will place you on a committee. We welcome the assistance of our members to make the MABA experience second to none!

President’s Message

I am deeply honored to have been selected as our new MABA President for 2021. I will always strive to be worthy of the trust you have placed in me to lead this organization.

I am relatively new to MABA compared to some, but I have come to value my membership in this organization and the friendships I have forged through MABA and the competition barbecue world.

My goals as President are to foster the social aspect of MABA and increase the size of “our tent” to welcome more members into the MABA family. We have lots of exciting news to share in the coming weeks, and we look forward to a return to normalcy in 2021 so that we can all return to the competition world and all the fun that goes with it. I am thrilled with the new Board members you have selected, and we are already collaborating on new ideas to improve our member experience.
